In conversation with the craftsmanship of an exquisite historic building, the cafe interior offers a distinctive contemporary feel that harmonizes beautifully with its surroundings, inviting patrons to linger.
Starting with a space in the iconic Tree Studios building, En Masse was tasked with building a European-inspired cafe inside the original facade. The richness and beauty of the original architecture provided inspiration for the aesthetics of the interior, using unique details, especially the solarium looking out on an ivy-covered facade, to their best advantage.
“We took a less-is-more approach here — not over-designed, but with an effortlessly chic sensibility that can stand up to the iconic setting.”

Custom displays give an air of casual luxury to the store; the fluted walnut covering the sides of the counter matches the built-in shelves behind it, accented by a clean white countertop and gold accents on the display cases and shelves. The back seating area of the shop is intimate and romantic, but simple, with custom recessed banquettes and a delicate floral wallpaper. A fireplace at one end of the solarium creates a beautiful glow in the evenings, perfect for relaxing with a drink or pastry.
