The beginning of the summer is always a time for new ideas and new beginnings. As the Chicago sunshine streams through our studio windows, our collective of designers began thinking about how we could bring new voices and ideas into our space. Through the lead of En Masse Associate and Senior Architect, Ross Renjillian, this exciting Summer Series begins with the celebration of the harmonious blend between art and architecture.
We were thrilled to showcase the work of Hans Koesters, an artist and designer whose creative journey has taken him from Los Angeles to Chicago. His captivating pieces provided an enticing exploration of the delicate space between art and architecture.
Hans' “This Way Up" series of mixed media paintings serve as artifacts of perceptual ideas, navigating the gray area where the two disciplines intersect. Each piece is meticulously constructed, weaving together composite geometries and the fundamental elements of point, line, plane, and volume.
Opening our space to the public, friends, and industry professionals, we showcased Hans' work, fostering an enriching connection between fine art and the En Masse studio. The interplay of the artwork's palette with the En Masse surroundings created a unique and balanced experience, capturing the essence of Hans' vision within our own creative home.
This event marked the beginning of a new chapter for us, as we aspire to host more gatherings that celebrate the fusion of art and architecture. Our mission is to create a nurturing environment where creativity thrives and connections are fostered, not only within our team but with the broader Logan Square and Chicago community.
We are eager to embark on this journey, bringing together diverse talents and perspectives to create experiences between disciplines and inspire the creative imagination!
With creativity and anticipation,
En Masse
